Meihui succeeds on the check of 11 to escape the guard’s notice. Meihui decides to avoid him and find a place where she can climb over the wall. There is a guard at the gateway, an Imperial man in leather armour armed with a spear and with a horn hanging from his belt. Moving stealthily through the trees, she approaches a ruined stone gateway cautiously. The Academy of Fa al-Tabariĭungeon type: academy (ruined mage school) Leaving the trade post she travels west along a mountain trail, past Targessa and Fu Dai’s lead mine and down into a valley of pines to the ruins of the Academy of Fa al-Tabari. She pauses briefly at the trade post to buy a bottle of cheap rice wine, and finds that she is now well-known to the inhabitants the squatters that have settled in the ruined town of Targessa have told them of how she killed the nue for them. She then travels northwest past the fort of Shanbao, to Hasan al-Sakhawi’s trade post in the foothills of the Altgrimmr Mountains. At Huaiji she stops at the tavern for a mug of the excellent rice beer brewed by the tavernkeeper Ding Hong, although only for the taste as she has no need for any kind of drink while wearing her armour. Travelling on foot she follows the road that leads north along the west bank of the Lanbaoshi River to the village of Huaiji. She is wearing her magical banded armour of Sustenance which allows her to travel without the need to eat, drink, sleep, or breathe. She crosses the Lanbaoshi Bridge into West Haicheng and leaves the city. Money: 21 gp and 2 sp The journey to the Academy of Fa al-Tabari She has new clothes made by the tailor Eydis Veitberg. At Hilt Osterhagen’s chandlery she buys a new bamboo pole to replace the one that she lost in the Altgrimmr Mountains. She has breakfast at the inn and then buys a new crossbow from the bowyer Guang Ritter. The healing potion that the alchemist Ochi Kazashi has been brewing for her is now ready, and she prepares to leave Haicheng to explore the Academy of Fa al-Tabari. Meihui has been staying for a week in a cheap room at The White Dragon inn.

This is a solo Scarlet Heroes dungeon adventure in which Yao Meihui explores the ruined mage school in the Altgrimmr Mountains known as the Academy of Fa al-Tabari.
